Why does HKO Media's work resonate so much with our clients? The main reason is Harvey's passion for what he calls the "C.L.O.T.T.S." principles of content and thematically-driven storytelling.

C.L.O.T.T.S. is Harvey's own highly individualized and personalized communication tool that helps clients connect with customers (and vice versa) by turning core ideas, information, and key branding messages into stories that engage, educate, and entertain.

How does C.L.O.T.T.S. work? What's inside Harvey's secret sauce?

"C" = Content: The first rule of storytelling is to have something to say. Content is what your message or your story is about. Who are you? What does your company or your brand stand for? What's your point?

"L" = Language is how you communicate what you're about. What words and images are the best ones to show and tell your story?

"O" = Organization. What's the best way to shape or structure your ideas or messages into coherent stories that will knock the socks off of anyone who hears or sees them?

"T" = Theme. This is HKO's most secret and prized ingredient. A good idea isn't enough, that's only what you're about. In business (as in life), sometimes you have to really dig deep and scratch the surface to find out what your story is really about and most importantly, why others should care. Finding a way to create and then sustain this cathartic link between and among employees, volunteers, clients, customers, and stakeholders is the ultimate challenge for any corporation or organization. It's what Harvey Ovshinsky and the HKO Media team does best and what separates us from any other production or consulting company.

"T" = Tone. What is your attitude? How would you describe your organization’s approach or style? What kind of emotion are you trying to communicate or elicit? How should your target audience feel about you and your story?

"S" = Surprise. Tell your audiences something they don't know, or at the least, something they don't expect to hear from you.

Whether your content is expressed in video, audio, Web, or print, showing and telling your story is that simple. And it's that hard. All you need is a little C.L.O.T.T.S. if you want your message to stick, congeal, engage, and connect.
