At HKO Media, we are especially proud
of the fact that our reputation is not only for the quality of
our storytelling, but also for the public service we have provided to the Metro
Detroit and Ann Arbor communities. HKO
Media consults with nonprofit and community organizations
to create compelling, award-winning, content- and thematically-driven
branding messages and video productions.
For example:
- The The University of Michigan's Office of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Affairs asked HKO Media to create a promotional and educational video intended to trigger discussions and conversations among students, faculty, and the community. IT'S WHO YOU ARE: A CONVERSATION ABOUT GENDER IDENTITY & GENDER EXPRESSION was produced by HKO's Matt Prested.
- The Frankel Center for Judaic Studies at
the University of Michigan asked HKO
Media to produce WHY IS THIS CAMP DIFFERENT THAN ALL OTHERS? a
new seven-minute audio feature exploring the universe of Jewish educational
summer camps. The feature was distributed to over 200 radio, Web, and community
outlets. Click here to
listen to or download this 8 MB mp3 audio feature.
- When Lutheran Social Services of Michigan wanted to create
a new tag line to best describe its mission, the state's second largest social
service organization called HKO
Media to help facilitate the process. With Harvey Ovshinsky's assistance,
LSSM's team decided that their organization was really about: * Hope
* Compassion * Solutions.
- Bill Martin knew the Jewish Federation of Washtenaw County was going to honor him with its 2005 Humanitarian Award. What he didn't know was that the Federation asked HKO
Media to create a 10-minute video profile of the famed University of Michigan Athletic Director. "Not only was Bill surprised," said Federation Executive Director Jeff Levin, "he was touched - as was the audience - by the tributes and depiction of how his generosity has made a difference in this community. The video helped create a very emotional evening."
- When Payson Tilden, Deputy Director of Housing & Energy Assistance for OLHSA (Oakland Livingston Human Service Agency) needed to produce a video documenting the work of the agency's Residential Energy Assistance Challenge (REACH) program, she made only one phone call. "OLHSA had minimal funds, but HKO stepped in to guide us in creating an outstanding video that truly showed off the merits of our project. We were definitely pleased with the professionalism and quality of our relationship with HKO."
